Inner Belt Loop Road and trail set to open in June
The Billings Inner Belt Loop project has been in the works for decades, with planning beginning before 2010. The project will connect the Heights to the West End, and the city said the road and adjoining pedestrian pathway will open in June.

Billings airport receives final portion of grant for new California flight
The Billings airport hit another milestone Tuesday in its quest to bring an important daily flight to the city. The city’s air service commission reached its matching goal to use a $1 million grant. A $50,000 grant from the Montana Department of Commerce puts the commission at $750,000 raised, which was the prerequisite to qualify for a federal Small Community Air Service Development Grant.

St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings announces Level 1 trauma designation
BILLINGS - St. Vincent Regional Hospital announced Thursday it has been designated a Level 1 Trauma Center, the second major healthcare facility in Billings to reach the high-level emergency care designation. Level 1 Trauma Care is the highest level of emergency care designation recognized by the American College of Surgeons. The designation requires the facility "to deliver comprehensive care to the most critically injured patients around the clock, every day of the year," according to a hospital press release.

Montana State breaks ground on Billings nursing building
BOZEMAN — About 200 people gathered in Billings Thursday afternoon to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new nursing education building for Montana State University’s Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing. The new building will be paid for by part of a $101 million philanthropic investment by Mark and Robyn Jones, co-founders of Goosehead Insurance, and will feature state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. Previously, the college operated in Billings out of leased facilities.
