We love living in a place that has all four seasons! I’ve included a few of my family’s favorite season-specific kid-friendly activities below.
We’re big outdoor lovers! And the Beartooth Mountains are home to some of our favorite things to do, including driving the Beartooth Highway, camping, fishing, and plenty of hiking.
The Oasis is Billings’ most extensive outdoor water park. They have slides, water cannons, a toddler pool, shade structures (that go fast!) and so much more. Get there early if you want to enjoy a fun afternoon in the sun!
Play Ball! Located in downtown Billings, Dehler Park is our largest baseball stadium and it’s home to the Billings Mustangs, Billings American Legion Baseball (Royals & Scarlets), and the MSU-B Yellowjackets. Starting every spring you can get your baseball fix, a ballpark hotdog and beer, and 7th inning stretch in. With our toddler, we like to get picnic seating so he can stretch his legs a bit.
Including movies, concerts, reading, lunch, and so many more! Nearly every week of the summer you can find at least one outdoor concert, event, reading time, or free lunch available for the whole family. I’ve linked some of the most popular

Every Saturday morning from July through early October you can explore stands from local growers and food vendors in downtown Billings!
Probably my personal favorite summer event, the Billings Symphony presents an annual evening of music under the big Montana sky. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and round out your experience with picnic fare from participating food trucks.
A quick 1-hour drive from Billings you’ll find Red Lodge Mountain. A personal favorite of ours, Red Lodge Mountain is fun for the whole family. With more than 70 runs spread across 2 summits that include gentle beginner slopes, long groomers, chutes, glades, and steeps, Red Lodge Mountain appeals to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. On-mountain amenities include a rental and repair shop, retail, lessons, and numerous dining options.
When Billings gets snow, you can grab your snowsuits and hit the hills of Pioneer Park for sledding.
