There’s nothing quite like experiencing the magic of the holiday season through the eyes of a child! Here are some of my family’s favorite holiday happenings.

Santa Claus Sightings and Pictures –

Various locations throughout the city. Our favorites include Santa Saturdays at Roots Garden Center and Holiday Nights. Cabela’s and Rimrock Mall both host Santa’s Workshops throughout December.

Downtown Billings Holiday Parade –

Annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving

Downtown Holiday Stroll –

Annually on the First Friday of December

Holiday Nights at ZooMontana –

This makes for a truly magical night and my favorite event of the season. Tickets can be purchased on their website, holiday-nights.com. My family loves getting a private Smore’s Hut for hot chocolate and smores making on a bonfire.

Billings Symphony The Nutcracker Ballet –

A Thanksgiving weekend tradition!

Holiday Movies at The Babcock and Art House Cinema & Pub –

Check out the newly remodeled Art House or classic Babcock Theatre and catch a holiday favorite with the whole family!

Christmas Lights –

Grab a thermos of hot chocolate and some snacks for a self-guided driving tour of Christmas Light displays throughout the city. Check out the Facebook page, Billings Christmas Lights, for a list of houses you won’t want to miss. Don’t forget to check out Christmas Wreath and Candy Cane Lanes!
